What is a Public Blockchain?
A public blockchain is simply a database that has certain properties that make it resistant to censorship and fraud. Public blockchains enable permissionless access. For example, the Bitcoin blockchain enables anyone with access to it to send and receive bitcoin with anyone else in the world that has a bitcoin wallet.
What is Ethereum?
Ethereum is a public blockchain. Unlike Bitcoin, which simply enables send and receive transactions, Ethereum transactions can run applications, store data, and host other tokens. Ether is the cryptocurrency that is native to the Ethereum blockchain.
What is a Decentralized Application?
A decentralized application (Dapp) is a program that lives on the Ethereum blockchain. It can be interacted with by sending transactions to it. Unlike traditional applications, Dapps are open to anyone who can connect to the Ethereum Network. SportX is a website that simplifies the process of interacting with the BetX protocol, which itself resides on the Ethereum blockchain.
